My Christmas Crazy Or Santa's Landing...

I'm playing BBM's, Show Us Your Christmas Crazy...so far most people seem to be showing Christmas tree's (which I have two of) and tons of gifts but we've got a whole different approach going on over here.

Have you ever gotten an email with a house that plays music and the lights are dancing in time with the music? If so, you know what our house looks like. Joe starts the day after Halloween putting the 16,500 lights up on the house. Building the Christmas tree and assembling the one mile of extension cords he uses to run the show. Then he usually sequences between 5 and 10 songs to the lights.

As if that wasn't enough, we also have one night that we have Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Grinch drop in to spend the evening with the little ones.

This year got off to a bumpy start with Hope sicker than a dog with a fever and throwing up...we finally managed to pull things together right before Santa got here.

Every year Santa comes in on the fire engine. Our firemen, EMT's and paramedics are awesome and always hang around and chat with the people and play around with the kids. This year was no exception. They start the lights at the end of the street and get the sirens screaming to let all the kiddies know Santa is on the way. This year Mrs. Claus came along for the ride.

Here's a picture of Hope sitting on Santa's lap. She asked for a Spike (a dinosaur) but Santa told her "he didn't know what a Spike was." Hope was sure to tell him that he was "all over the TV." And then Santa told her "he doesn't watch TV, he's to busy." Hope is still trying to grasp that Santa doesn't watch TV...

This year the Grinch didn't do his dance. He just kind of popped out and started to hand out candy canes...it could be because his wife had a nervous breakdown 5 minutes before Santa got here (we're really showing our crazy this year) but let's just say he missed his cue....we did manage to get a picture with everyone before they left...this one will be framed and put up somewhere in my house...

And here's one of Mr. & Mrs. Grinch...this is not my favorite picture but I had to put it up...the reason I'm laughing like that? I was goosed by the Grinch....not to many people can say that, now can they!!

Check it out for yourself....

Next year we plan to make it even more crazy (as if that is even possible). I hope you enjoyed your stay here...now, go get your Christmas Crazy on!!!

Melissa, what Santa's Landing brings is the magic of the season. I know this will sound completely cheesy, but from the perspective of someone who has witnessed it over the past 3 years I can tell you that it alone, makes Christmas more magical and special. I know it is an incredible amount of work and stress, especially when you are dealing with so many health issues...but, I hope it continues for many years to come. The looks on the kids faces, the excitement of the firetruck, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus are the kinds of things that unite a community.

Gettin' goosed by the grinch, huh? I knew you were some freaky people. LMAO!

As always, we love Santa's Landing. And how awesome it is for me?? I'm the daughter of Santa & Mrs. Claus. :)

(Don't anyone fret - this particular Santa watches ALOT of TV; I think he just wanted to cover his butt for not exactly knowing what a Spike was.)

Very very cool!

So do you have your inside windows blacked out or do you just not turn on the lights inside when your outside display is on? Just curious.

We have wood blinds and they manage to block most of the light...mostly we just keep the rooms in the front of the house dark anyway...have to save on electricity. :)

Amazing! I'm not so sure I'd want the Grinch goosing me, though. :)

Merry Christmas!
